If you are using Internet Explorer:

There is nothing you need to do, the plug-in is already installed in browser.
If you use Internet Explorer and saw a message about lack of the plugin, the cause probably is that the option to execute ActiveX elements and plugins is disabled in your browser settings. To enable this option please do the following:

  • Tools > Internet Options > Security
  • Set 'Security levels for this zone' to Default level or check 'enable' in 'Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins' in 'Custom level'

If you are using Opera:

Windows

Since Windows Media Player comes preinstalled with Windows, for most users the plug-in should work from the moment Opera is installed. In some cases, especially for Windows Vista or Windows XP with version 11 of Windows Media player, you may need to use a separate plug-in. You need to install a plug-in if you notice that either: video or audio are not playing, or video edges are cut off. Opera uses Windows Media Player Firefox Plug-In, that is also good for Opera.

To install this plug-in for Windows post 98/ME (Vista, XP), follow these steps:

  • Install the plug-in.
  • Restart Opera.
  • Refresh the page that requires the plug-in and make sure it is working.

If you are still having problems, try these further steps:

  • Open the advanced config
  • Next to Plugin Path, in the input box, type X:PfilesPlugins; at the very start of the line, where X is the letter of your system drive (such as C:...). Important: Make sure you include the semi-colon ; at the end, and do not use quote marks.
  • Try steps 3 and 4 again.

If you are running an older Windows version (Windows 95/98/ME), you need to install a different plug-in.

  • Install the older plug-in.
  • Open Internet Explorer and go to Windows Update to make sure you have the latest version of the plug-in.
  • Restart Opera.
  • Refresh the page that requires the plug-in and make sure it is working.
